1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using piquashawnee.gov (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site.
2. Authority and Sovereignty
The Piqua Shawnee Tribe of Alabama is a state-recognized Indian tribe under the Davis-Strong Act (Code of Alabama §41-9-708). Nothing on this Site waives the sovereign immunity of the Tribe, its officers, employees, or agents.
3. Use of the Site
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else's use and enjoyment of the Site. Prohibited conduct includes harassment, transmission of obscene or offensive content, and disruption of normal dialogue on the Site.
4. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including text, photographs, the Tribal Seal, graphics, logos, audio, and video — is the property of the Piqua Shawnee Tribe of Alabama or its licensors and is protected by United States copyright and trademark law. The Tribal Seal and the name “Piqua Shawnee Tribe of Alabama” may not be used without express written permission.
5. User Submissions
By submitting any content to the Tribe through this Site (including through contact forms or the Citizens Portal), you grant the Tribe a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use that content for tribal governmental purposes. You represent that any content you submit is your own and does not violate any third party's rights.
6. Citizen Portal
Access to the Enrolled Citizens Portal is limited to verified citizens of the Piqua Shawnee Tribe. Misuse of credentials, attempts to access another citizen's account, or any unauthorized access to the Portal is strictly prohibited and may result in revocation of access and referral to law enforcement.
7. Third-Party Links
The Site contains links to websites operated by federal agencies, state agencies, partner organizations, and other third parties. The Tribe does not control and is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those websites.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The Tribe does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Piqua Shawnee Tribe of Alabama, its officers, council members, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your access to or use of the Site.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Piqua Shawnee Tribe of Alabama and its officers, council members, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of your use of the Site or your violation of these Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Piqua Shawnee Tribe of Alabama and, where applicable, the laws of the State of Alabama and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
12. Changes to These Terms
